How to play Memory Match

Memory Match — also known as Concentration or Pairs — is a classic card matching game that tests your short-term memory. Sixteen cards are laid face down on a 4x4 board, hiding eight emoji pairs. Click or tap any card to flip it over, then flip a second card to look for its twin. If the two cards match, they stay face up for the rest of the game. If they don't match, take a good look — after a short moment they flip back face down, and it's up to you to remember where they were. Every pair of flips counts as one move, and the game is won when all eight pairs are found. Fewer moves means a better score, and your best game is saved automatically.

Strategy tips: the key to any memory game is to turn misses into information. When a pair doesn't match, don't just move on — anchor each emoji to its position on the grid ("the fox is top-right corner"). Work systematically instead of flipping at random: sweep the board in a fixed order early on so you build a mental map quickly, then spend the mid-game cashing in the pairs you already know. When you reveal a new card, check it against your memory before flipping a random second card — a remembered match is a guaranteed move. A perfect game is possible in well under 16 moves.
