Drag back from the ball and release · arrow keys aim and set power, space putts
Windmill Putt is a nine-hole round of mini golf. Aim by dragging back from the ball like a catapult — the further you pull, the harder the shot — then let go to putt. On a keyboard, the left and right arrows swing your aim, the up and down arrows set the power, and space or enter takes the shot. Par for the round is 29, and your score is shown against par: E for level, +3 if you are three over. Every hole caps out at eight strokes, so a nightmare hole can only cost you so much.
The course fights back. Spinning windmill arms guard the gaps in the middle of holes 3, 7 and 9, so wait for the blade to pass and putt through the opening rather than blasting at it. Sand kills your speed almost instantly — go the long way around it. Water costs you a stroke and drops you back where you played from, which is what makes the island green on hole 8 so mean. Walls are your friend: the bounces are predictable, so line up a bank shot off a side wall on the dogleg holes instead of trying to curl the ball. In 2 players, you take it in turns on the same device — both of you play each hole before the round moves on — and the lower total wins. Your best round is saved in this browser, so there is always a reason for another nine.
