Gomoku (also called Five in a Row) is a classic connection game on a 15×15 board. You place black stones and always move first; the computer places white. Tap any empty intersection to drop a stone. The first player to get five stones in a continuous line — horizontally, vertically, or diagonally — wins. This is freestyle Gomoku: there are no Renju forbidden moves, so both sides can freely create open threes and fours. Games end in a draw only if the board fills with no five-in-a-row.
The computer AI watches for threats. An open four (four in a row with empty ends) is nearly an instant win, and open threes force blocks. On Hard difficulty it also looks a move ahead around the active area of the board, so careless gaps get punished. Strategy tips: play near the center early, build dual threats your opponent cannot block in one move, and never leave an open four unanswered. Easy is forgiving, Medium blocks obvious wins, and Hard plays a competent threat-driven game.
Prefer a human opponent? Switch to 2 Players mode for pass-and-play Gomoku on one device. Black and white take turns tapping the board, the status line shows whose turn it is, and Undo lets you rewind a misplaced stone. No accounts, downloads, or second device needed.
