How to play Tab Hunt

Tab Hunt is a free duck-hunt style arcade shooter you can play in the browser — no download, no signup. Browser tabs flap in from the sides with their memory footprint listed under the title, and you get three shots each wave. Hit one and it takes the X-eyed favicon and drops out of the sky, adding its megabytes to your freed total. Miss, and the survivors flee upward. They do not just vanish: escaped tabs land in a comeback queue and reappear in later waves flagged as “returned,” moving faster and carrying 1.5× the memory, so letting a heavy tab get away twice gets expensive.

Waves get bigger and quicker as you go. A third simultaneous tab shows up around wave 4, and speed scales each round. Clear every tab in a wave for a perfect-wave bonus. Whiff an entire wave — zero hits, all tabs escape — and a smug pixel dino rises out of the grass to laugh at you. Five escapes total and the tabs win: you get the final tally, waves survived, and a chance to hunt again. On a phone, tap where you want to shoot. On a keyboard, aim with the mouse or arrow keys (or WASD) and fire with Space, Enter, or Z. This is a sandboxed cartoon — nothing here can see or close the tabs in your real browser. Your best RAM-freed score is saved on this device.
